Christopher Lim AIFD
A floral maestro in the city of Singapore.
Christopher Lim (AIFD) is a professional florist with more than 36 years of experience as a floral designer, educator, and demonstrator in both Japanese and western style floral design. Christopher Lim’s career in the floral arts is long and prolific:
He as been a certified Sogetsu instructor and holds the highest rank of Riji in the Sogetsu School of ikebana, headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.
He holds the highest qualification from the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD), and is a qualified and licensed Certified Floral Designer (CFD) of that institution.
He has for many years served as Advisor to several Chapters of Ikebana International including Sri Lanka (Chapter 262); Johor, West Malaysia (Chapter 235) ; and Karachi, Pakistan (Chapter 204).
Over his long and prolific career, he has wowed audiences in many countries worldwide with his live demonstrations, floral exhibits and workshops at international conferences, exhibitions and other venues.
He assisted Iemoto Akane Teshigahara at the 40th Anniversary of the Singapore Sogetsu Association , as well as Headmaster Riho Samba At The Asia Regional Conference (2002), Master Demonstrators Seiko Ozawa (2008), Ken Katayama (China, 2009), and Yochi Hinata (2013) in other International events.
Christopher has conducted numerous demonstrations, classes, and workshops regularly in a large number of cities and countries in the Asian region including in Japan (Kamakura and Fukuoka), India (New Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore), China (Guangzhou, Xiantao), Sri Lanka (Colombo and Kandy), Pakistan (Karachi), and Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur, Johor, Penang). He has also held workshops in the United States (Hawaii), England, Australia, Hong Kong, the Philippines, and Indonesia.
He is a long-standing member of the Sogetsu Teacher’s Association, Tokyo, Japan; the American Institute of Floral Design (AIFD), and Ikebana International Singapore Chapter 135.
